Can You Use Bellafill Under the Eyes?

Do you ever look in the mirror and feel like your eyes aren’t quite as youthful as they used to be? If so, you’re not alone. The lower eye region often ages quickly. Fortunately, our aesthetic experts at Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center in Noblesville, IL can help. Today, we’re taking a closer look at Bellafill filler, a proprietary dermal filler that may be a good fit for you.

Can you Use Bellafill Filler Under the Eyes?

Yes, it can be injected into the lower eye region to reverse the signs of aging, such as dark circles beneath the eyes, bags, puffiness, sagging, and moderate-to-severe wrinkles. Many people find this injectable treatment a great alternative to fat grafting because it is non-invasive and the treatment results are long-lasting. This treatment provides incredibly long-lasting results because it encourages natural collagen production.

Collagen Production

To keep your skin looking as young as possible for as long as possible, you need to keep your skin producing as much collagen as possible. Hyaluronic acid (HA) and elastin play important roles in keeping your skin looking young and healthy. However, collagen is a part of the ECM (extracellular matrix) that should not be overlooked.

While the ECM cannot be seen, it exists in the deepest layer of your skin and acts as scaffolding. Unfortunately, the scaffolding starts to sag as you age because your skin can’t produce as much collagen as it used to produce. This results in undereye bags, wrinkles, visible skin sagging, and other signs of aging. Fortunately, Bellafill filler can safely and effectively be administered into this delicate region and encourage the skin to produce extra collagen.

How Does This Treatment Work?

At first, the results of this treatment are derived from the PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) microspheres in the injected gel. However, after three to six months, the PMMA microspheres are replaced with naturally produced collagen.

PMMA Microspheres

What’s interesting about PMMA microspheres is that the body can’t absorb them. At first, this may sound a little alarming, but it’s one of the reasons this treatment is so long-lasting. You see, as your skin generates extra collagen in response to the PMMA injections, the collagen merges with the microspheres. Over time, your skin is smooth because 20% of the injected microspheres fill out wrinkles and hollows along with 80% of your body’s own collagen.

Is This Treatment Safe?

Yes, this injectable dermal filler will be perfectly safe for you if you are considered a good candidate. PMMA microspheres may be relatively new on the cosmetic scene. However, they have been used for decades in medical implants. Note, while your skin metabolizes the gel over time, the microspheres will remain in the foundational layer of your skin, keeping it plump and tight until your body has had enough time to produce extra collagen.

Where Else Can This Injectable Be Used?

Bellafill filler is incredibly popular because it can improve the appearance of the lower eye area. However, that is by no means the only application of this powerful dermal filler. For instance, the FDA has approved this filler for the treatment of acne scars in the midface and moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds.

Also, this injectable increases facial circulation, restoring the youthful glow your skin once had. What’s so special about facial circulation? It doesn’t just deliver oxygen and micronutrients to your tissues. It also sweeps toxins away, softening and brightening your youthful complexion.

You Can Forget About Downtime

Due to this injectable non-invasive nature, you don’t have to worry about downtime. You can get back to whatever else you had planned for the day as soon as your session is complete. Also, due to the non-invasive nature of this treatment, almost everyone is considered a good candidate. Regardless of your skin tone and type, you can receive these injections safely.

However, you should be at least 21 years of age before you consider this treatment. Also, you should advise us on whether you are allergic to lidocaine or bovine protein during your initial evaluation. You also need to advise us on your health history and aesthetic goals before we determine whether you qualify for this treatment.

Precision Is Required

An extreme amount of precision is required while Bella is being administered for it to provide such beautiful, long-lasting results. We have the training and experience to inject this filler into precise problem areas and deliver brilliant, natural-looking results. Individual results vary, but you can expect to see initial benefits as soon as your injections are complete.

Then, the final results can be seen a few months after the injections are administered. However, the time it takes to see your final results depends on how quickly your body can manufacture extra collagen in response to this treatment. Note, you may need a couple of injection sessions spaced a couple of months apart to achieve your desired results.

Clients Love the Rapid, Long-Lasting Results

One of the most compelling benefits of this treatment is the injections can be administered in just a few minutes. Even if you are treating multiple areas, your appointment can be completed in under an hour. Also, clients love how long the results last.

A long-term study was conducted that revealed an astonishing 87% of people who received these injections were still satisfied with the results of their treatment after five years. Note, this wasn’t a small study. Over 1,000 people participated in this study.

Is Bellafill Filler or Sculptra Right for Me?

Sculptra is another anti-aging injectable that is known for its long-lasting results. Individual results vary, but the results of this treatment typically last for two to five years. Note, Sculptra’s results develop a little faster, typically becoming apparent after one to two months. However, Sculptra injection sessions may be required to achieve ideal results, putting it on par with Bella. Both of these injectables are great for enhancing the appearance of the face.

We’ll let you know which is appropriate for you during your initial consultation. As a general rule, if you’re worried about your lower eye region, acne scars on your cheeks, or nasolabial folds, this miraculous product will be right for you. On the other hand, if you are concerned about moderate-to-severe cheek sagging, jowls, hollow cheeks, or hollow temples, Sculptra may be a better fit for you. Also, you should be aware that you can receive Bella injections and Sculptra injections simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions Answered

What Is Bovine Collagen?

Bovine collagen is one of Bellafill filler ingredients and one of its keys to success. This collagen is extremely similar to the collagen your skin makes and acts in the same way, supporting and rejuvenating your skin until your skin can finish producing its own excess collagen. Bovine collagen has been used for years in medical and cosmetic applications, and it is known to mitigate the risk of bone loss, ease arthritis pain, and improve the health of the skin.

How Long Will My Injection Session Take?

As a general rule, you can expect your treatment to take 30 to 45 minutes to complete. We will start by cleaning the treatment area thoroughly. Then, we will administer several injections into precise points in the treatment area or areas.

The length of your treatment depends on how many areas are being treated and whether you are also receiving other anti-aging treatments during your session. There is no need for the application of a topical numbing cream due to the lidocaine (an injectable numbing agent) in the formula of this filler.

Can I Have Only One Injection Session?

We will advise you on whether you will only need one treatment session during your initial consultation. If you have severe cosmetic concerns, there is a good chance that you will need two injection sessions to achieve your desired results. Since treatment sessions are spaced roughly eight weeks apart, and it takes roughly 12 weeks to see the final results, we will be able to tell whether you will need a follow-up session two months after your first session.
