DOES VANQUISH ME REALLY WORK?
That’s the most frequent question we get about non-surgical fat reduction. We found many devices available that actually work. We looked at all of them and decided on Vanquish ME as the best non-surgical fat reduction solution for our patients.
How do these machines actually destroy fat?
When cells are damaged, they undergo a process referred to as apoptosis. This means programmed cell death. The cell is still there, but it’s stunned so that it cannot continue its normal cellular processes. The cell starts to break down. Organelles are resorbed, and in the fat cell, the lipid contents are released into the surrounding space. Those lipids are collected into the lymph system, and your body ultimately excretes them. Over time, your body eliminates the fat from the treated area.
The devices on the market today use different methods to destroy fat. Fat cells are particularly susceptible to damage from heat and cold. Most of the devices that remove fat use either heat or cold to target the fat cells. There are also devices that use ultrasound. All of the devices we considered have their pros and cons. We believe Vanquish ME stands out as superior in many ways.
We considered CoolSculpting because patients ask for it by name but decided against it for a few reasons. First of all, it comes at a higher cost to patients. You can only treat fat that can be sucked into the applicator often leaving unevenness. It does not work well on legs. There are complaints of the painful freezing and thawing process. A skin tightening solution was not available. Vanquish ME offers skin tightening during the treatment.
We then considered many devices that use radiofrequency to heat the fat from the skin surface. These devices are great at skin tightening and they also burn fat. It turns out that this is a great treatment if you have loose skin and some fat to burn. We offer Venus Freeze. This device heats the fat for volume loss and skin tightening.
We choose Vanquish ME for many reasons. Vanquish ME is different. It has a large applicator that can span from love handle to love handle. It is positioned near your skin but not touching. It has been designed to tune the radiofrequency to the fat, selectively heating it more than the skin. It heats the skin for some skin tightening, but it is mostly heating the fat. It feels warm. Many patients close their eyes and relax during the treatment. Vanquish ME is a great treatment if you have fat to lose and additionally it offers some skin tightening.
Vanquish ME results are best seen at three to six months after the treatment depending on your activity and how well you stay hydrated. A series of four treatments are recommended.
We offer combination treatments as well. Used in combination Vanquish ME and Venus Freeze or Cellutone would be an amazing treatment to reduce fat and tighten skin.
