Understanding How Long Liposuction Benefits Last

Understanding How Long Liposuction Benefits Last | Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center

If you have unwanted fat anywhere on your body such as your thighs, arms, midsection, flanks, and more, you may be a good candidate for liposuction surgery. This procedure can eliminate stubborn fat from many different areas and mold your body into a more ideal shape.

At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center, we can help you minimize bulges and sculpt your body through our liposuction procedures. We utilize different liposuction techniques including VASER®, water jet assisted, and laser-assisted, that enable us to customize your services.

Understanding How Long Liposuction Benefits Last | Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction surgery is a procedure that removes fat from targeted areas of the body. During the procedure, your surgeon marks the areas where you have extra fat or unwanted bulges and then inserts a cannula through small incisions. Additional technologies can be used to liquefy fat cells first to make them easier to remove. Then suction is used to remove the fat cells. While liposuction is not a weight loss treatment, it can improve the appearance of certain areas.

How Long Do Liposuction Results Last?

Liposuction permanently removes fat cells from the target area. Once they are removed, they don’t return. However, it is important to note that not all fat cells are removed during this procedure. Fat cells that remain after your liposuction surgery can still expand with weight loss or change over time. While liposuction can last for many years, certain factors may affect these benefits over time. These factors include:

Weight Management

Maintaining a consistent weight is important for retaining the benefits of your liposuction procedure. When you gain weight, fat cells can expand. Because fat cells will remain in your treatment area, bulges can return if you gain weight.

Lifestyle

Your lifestyle can impact how long you will be able to enjoy results from your liposuction treatment. It is important to care for your body by eating a healthy diet and living an active lifestyle. Other lifestyle factors can impact the duration of liposuction results such as alcohol consumption and whether or not you smoke.

Individual Genetics

Genetics often dictate where you are prone to storing fat. If you have stubborn areas that seem to collect fat, these areas may still be genetically prone to gaining fat again in the absence of proper diet and exercise.

Age

As your body ages, your skin can become less elastic. This can lead to sagging skin and changes in the treatment area. Skin laxity can impact the results of your liposuction and change the contours of your body even if you don’t have any weight gain in the area.

Liposuction FAQs

What Types of Liposuction Are Available?

  • Tumescent Liposuction: Tumescent liposuction is a technique that involves filling the treatment area with a medicated fluid. This fluid is mostly saline water but also contains lidocaine to numb the area and epinephrine to minimize bleeding. The tumescent fluid makes fat removal easier and improves patient comfort and recovery.
  • Water Jet Assisted: Water jet-assisted liposuction allows for less manual manipulation during the liposuction procedure. This can make the process gentler for the patient. A jet of water is used to loosen fat cells and make them easier to remove using the cannula.
  • Laser Liposuction: Laser liposuction uses laser technology to liquefy fat cells before removal. The laser heats the fat cells, breaking them down and making them easier to remove. This treatment can also help to tighten the skin in the treatment area.
  • VASER® Liposuction: VASER liposuction, also known as ultrasound-assisted liposuction, begins with an ultrasound probe that breaks down fat cells while being gentle on the surrounding tissues. Once the fat cells are liquified, they are removed using the cannula. Like laser liposuction, VASER liposuction can tighten the skin.
  • MicroAire™ Power Assisted Liposuction: MicroAire Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) uses vibration technology to break up fat cells, leading to easier removal. Patients may have a shorter recovery with this type of procedure.

How Much Is Liposuction?

Because the scope of surgery and the device and method used for each individual liposuction will be different, the cost of liposuction surgery can vary widely. You will need to talk to your doctor about which type of liposuction surgery is right for you, how big of an area you will be treating, and how much the procedure will cost. You can set up a consultation with your surgeon to get more details about the procedure.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Liposuction?

Midsection Liposuction

One area where liposuction treatments can be performed is the midsection area. It is common for both men and women to have stubborn fat in the abdominal area. Liposuction is also common for the flanks, back, bra line, and waist.

Arm Liposuction

Arm liposuction is a common treatment. Excess fat is taken from the upper arm to make it more slender and to help lift and shape the arms.

Neck Liposuction

Neck liposuction can be the right treatment for patients who have excess fat on the neck and chin. It is a common procedure for patients who are concerned about their double chin and want a more defined chin and jawline.

Thigh Liposuction

If your body collects excess fat on the thighs, you may be a good candidate for thigh liposuction. This procedure can remove fat, contour the thighs and improve the appearance of the legs.

What Is a PRP Facelift?

What Is a PRP Facelift | Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center

Over time, lines and wrinkles can become more apparent on your face, and your skin can become less elastic. If you have been looking for a non-surgical option for lifting your face and reducing wrinkles, our PRP facelifts may be a good treatment for you.

At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center, we offer anti-aging services that can help make your skin more radiant and youthful. PRP treatments are a way to get a facelift without the downtime or incisions. PRP facial rejuvenation can be a good option for patients who want to look younger without surgery.

What Is a PRP Facelift | Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center

What Is a PRP Facelift?

A PRP facelift is a procedure that involves harvesting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own body and injecting it into targeted areas on the face to improve wrinkles, sagging skin, and more. Injections can be given on the forehead or brow to help soften wrinkles and lift the brow, on the lower eyelid to reduce puffiness and sagging, in the cheeks to lift and rejuvenate, in the jawline to help lift jowls, or in the nasolabial folds to refresh and restore.

What Is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma is a material that is taken from your blood. Blood contains several different components including red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Plasma is the liquid portion of your blood that contains proteins, salt, hormones, vitamins, and more. PRP is made by isolating plasma and platelets from the red blood cells and it has a much higher concentration of platelets than regular blood.

PPR contains growth factors and other beneficial properties. During a platelet-rich plasma facelift, PRP is injected to stimulate collagen production, help the body to produce new skin cells, and increase blood flow to improve the appearance and texture of the skin.

How Is PRP Harvested?

Step 1: Drawing the Blood

The first step of any PRP treatment is to draw blood from the patient. Several vials of blood may be taken based on the amount needed for your PRP facelift procedure. Using the same technique as a blood draw from your doctor’s office, the blood will be taken from your arm and then your arm will be bandaged.

Step 2: Using the Centrifuge

The blood that is taken is placed into a centrifuge device that has been FDA-approved for PRP extraction. The device spins the blood for a specific amount of time and at a specific speed to separate the blood into three layers: red blood cells, plasma, and platelets.

Step 3: Harvesting the PRP

Once the components are separated, the plasma and platelets can be manually separated from the red blood cells and placed in a syringe for injection into the skin.

What Are the Benefits of a PRP Facelift?

Reduce the Appearance of Fine Lines and Wrinkles

When you are younger, your body produces plenty of collagen, which is a protein that is essential for making the skin firm and elastic. As you age, however, your body will likely decrease the production of collagen by 1% every year, leading to skin laxity. This lack of structural support is one of the main causes of lines and wrinkles on the face. PRP helps to stimulate the production of collagen, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.

Stronger Skin Texture

An increase in blood flow and collagen production in the area from PRP facial treatments can also result in skin that has a much smoother and stronger texture. It can tighten areas that have begun to sag and make the skin feel firmer.

Improved Skin Tone

PRP can stimulate increased blood flow which leads to faster cell regeneration. When your body is able to create more new skin cells, the surface of the skin can appear brighter and more even-toned. It can be a good treatment for patients with hyperpigmentation and other types of skin discoloration.

Reduced Appearance of Scars

Acne scars are most often depressed scars that have resulted from a loss of tissue. During the healing process, the body will sometimes not produce enough collagen to fill in the tissue that was lost. As a result, boxcars, ice pick scars, and other types of scars may form. By stimulating collagen production in the areas that have acne scarring, some of the scars may begin to fill in over time and improve the texture of the skin.

Minimally Invasive Procedure With No Downtime

While surgery can be right for many patients, PRP facelift treatments offer a minimally invasive option. During a PRP facelift, blood will be drawn from your arm and you will receive injections. Both are tolerable even without numbing cream and will require no downtime. Because PRP is taken directly from your body, there is little risk of adverse reactions. You can talk to your doctor for more information about what to expect from this treatment.

BHRT: What Is It & How Does it Help?

BHRT: What Is It & How Does it Help? | Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center

Have you been feeling out of balance, tired all the time, or less like yourself? Your hormones may be to blame. Hormones can get out of balance at any time, but many people experience changes as they grow older. Because hormones can impact almost every area of your life from the quality of your sleep to the quality of your sex life, keeping them in balance can be vital.

At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center, we would love to help you regain balance in your life, feel more energetic, and feel like yourself with our bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) in Noblesville, IN.

BHRT: What Is It & How Does it Help? | Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center

What Is BHRT?

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is a treatment that is used to help restore hormonal balance in both men and women. At our practice, we treat both younger and older patients who have struggled with various symptoms due to their hormone levels.

Male and female BHRT can be administered using several different methods including BHRT pellets, topical creams, and injections. The method used will depend on individual factors and will be discussed between you and your doctor.

BHRT for Men

Hormone levels that are low or imbalanced in men can impact everything from muscle mass to cognitive function. Male andropause can happen when testosterone levels begin to decline. If you are experiencing symptoms of andropause, it is important to talk to your doctor. BHRT treatment may be the right choice for you.

BHRT for Women

While menopause is an expected and necessary part of aging, the symptoms that go along with menopause don’t have to be part of the experience. Mood swings, hot flashes, low libido, and more may all be able to be managed through bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. BHRT therapy can also be used with women of any age who are struggling with hormone-related symptoms.

How Can Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy Help?

1. It Can Minimize Menopausal/Andropausal Symptoms

During menopause, the body stops producing as many hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This can lead to unpleasant symptoms. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy delivers the hormones that your body is no longer producing as much of to help alleviate symptoms. These hormones are chemically identical to those produced by your body.

2. It Can Improve The Mood

Hormones play a key role in the mood by regulating neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. An imbalance can cause symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and irritability. BHRT therapy can restore these balances to allow your mood to be better regulated.

3. It Can Improve Sexual Function and Libido

Low testosterone levels can impact male sexual function by causing erectile dysfunction and reduced sexual desire. For women, low testosterone or low estrogen levels can result in uncomfortable symptoms such as vaginal dryness along with a lowered sexual desire and difficulty reaching orgasm. Methods such as BHRT pellet therapy are designed to restore low hormone levels to improve sexual function and libido.

4. It Can Increase Energy Levels

Hormones such as testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen play a role in energy production. They help to regulate metabolism, increase muscle strength, and improve sleep, all of which can impact the energy levels that you have throughout the day. Through BHRT treatment, fatigue, and low energy levels can be resolved.

5. It Can Improve Sleep

Testosterone plays a role in the regulation of your sleep-wake cycle while estrogen and progesterone can impact the quality of sleep that you have during the night. An imbalance in any of these hormones can lead to problems with falling asleep, staying asleep, or overall sleep quality, which can be resolved using BHRT pellets or other methods.

6. It Can Improve Cognitive Function

Many of your cognitive functions, including memory function, attention and focus, and protection against different types of dementia, can be impacted by hormones. They can be both regulative and protective for your brain, leading to either cognitive health or decline depending on whether the levels are balanced. If you are experiencing a lack of focus, difficulty remembering details, or other cognitive symptoms, hormone pellets may help.

7. It Can Benefit the Skin

While BHRT treatments can sometimes cause acne as your body adjusts to the treatment, over time these treatments can help to improve the health and appearance of the skin. Hormones are involved with oil production, collagen production, hydration, and pigmentation of the skin. By helping your body to have the right amount of each type of hormone, we can help your skin to have a more even texture and color and to be thicker and more elastic.

8. It Can Improve Bone Health

Estrogen is an important hormone for making bones strong, particularly in women, while testosterone is crucial for bone strength in men. These hormones can also affect calcium absorption by impacting vitamin D levels in the body. BHRT therapy can often be used to improve bone health, helping the bones stay strong even as you age.

9. It Can Be a Good Anti-Aging Treatment

BHRT pellet therapy can be a good overall anti-aging treatment because it can help to get at the root cause of the symptoms of aging rather than simply treating externals. By improving bone health, skin health, energy levels, and more, we can help you to continue feeling and looking your best as you age.

10. It Can Help With Weight Loss

If you have been having a difficult time losing weight or if you are gaining fat despite a rigorous diet and exercise routine, it may be your hormones that are to blame. Hormone pellets can speed up your metabolism, reduce inflammation, improve energy levels, and help increase muscle mass, all of which can aid in weight loss.

Rejuvenating Your Neck and Jawline Non-Surgically With a Zoom Lift

Zoom Lift

Today, we see ourselves more often than we did in decades past. Virtual meetings and pictures on social media can leave us feeling more self-conscious about our appearance. One of the areas that can be concerning for many people is the neck and lower chin area. This area can be one of the first to develop skin laxity and a lack of chin and jaw definition is easily seen on camera.

Zoom Lift

If you want to feel confident regardless of the situation but you aren’t interested in invasive surgeries, MyEllevate® is a non-surgical facelift procedure that can lift the tissue in the neck and submental area, recontour the jawline, and reduce lines and wrinkles in the neck. At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center, we love offering minimally invasive treatment options to be able to serve even more patients in Noblesville, IN.

What Is a Zoom Lift?

A Zoom Lift is a neck and jawline rejuvenation treatment using the MyEllevate procedure technique. During a MyEllevate treatment, permanent sutures are placed in the neck and under the chin to anchor the skin and place it into a more youthful position.

Because a Zoom Lift is a non-surgical facelift treatment,  you can be in and out of the office in just an hour or two, and you won’t have to put up with a long recovery time. It can be a great alternative to more invasive procedures if you aren’t ready for surgery.

How Is MyEllevate Performed?

Your surgeon will begin your Zoom Lift by getting you comfortable, giving you a local anesthetic, and marking the areas where the suture rod will be inserted.

Next, tiny punctures will be made in the areas that were marked. These areas are small enough to heal on their own without having to be stitched up after the treatment. A permanent suture is inserted into the area under the chin using a suture rod. Anchor points near the ears will allow the muscles, glands, and skin to be tightened into a more lifted and youthful position. This uniquely designed suture suspension is what allows this minimally invasive facelift to be so effective and to provide long-lasting results.

What Are the Benefits of MyEllevate Face Lift?

Minimally Invasive Face Lift

While traditional face and neck lift procedures can be very effective, the incisions that are made during the procedure can make the recovery time longer. While our incisions are always discreet and barely noticeable, with a non-surgical facelift treatment, you won’t have to worry about any scarring. The punctures heal without sutures and without leaving noticeable scars.

Long Lasting Results

Compared to other treatments, a Zoom Lift provides longer-lasting results. While not as long-lasting as a facelift, you can still enjoy several years of jawline and neck rejuvenation without having to come in for maintenance appointments.

Easy to Pair With Other Treatments

A Zoom Lift is a perfect treatment to combine with additional treatments to help tighten the skin or reduce excess fat. You can talk to us about other concerns about your neck and jawline to work out a personalized combination of treatments that will help you achieve a defined jawline and youthful neck.

Fast In-Office Procedure

Rather than having to have surgery that takes many hours out of your day, this minimally invasive facelift can be performed in our office under local anesthesia, typically in under an hour. The length of your procedure may depend on the other services that are being provided alongside the MyEllevate treatment, but it is faster than traditional surgery.

Minimal Downtime

As a non-surgical facelift procedure, MyEllevate treatments offer a much smaller amount of downtime. While you may have some swelling in the area for a few days, you can usually begin most light activities right away. Most people feel normal and can return to work within a few days. You may need to wear a chin strap and a cervical collar to help with the healing process. Plus, you can enjoy a warm shower as soon as the day after your treatment.

What Other Treatments Can Be Included?

FaceTite Skin Tightening

One of the most commonly included treatments with MyEllevate is the FaceTite skin tightening treatment. MyEllevate is a great non-surgical facelift but is not a skin-tightening treatment. If you want the skin on your neck and under your chin to be even smoother and more youthful, FaceTite can help you achieve this. This treatment uses radiofrequency energy to heat the tissue. This causes the stimulation of collagen and elastin and causes the skin to contract.

Neck Liposuction Fat Reduction

If you have unwanted fat in your neck or the submental area (under the chin), you may benefit from adding neck and chin liposuction to your jawline and neck rejuvenation services. Liposuction offers a permanent fat reduction service that can make your neck and jawline look beautiful and contoured when paired with MyEllevate.

How Long Does a MyEllevate Face Lift Last?

The longevity of treatment results can differ from person to person. However, the results of a Zoom facelift can last for many years, up to five years, or more.

Jawline and Neck Rejuvenation in Noblesville

A non-surgical facelift can open up many possibilities for patients who don’t want incisions or downtime away from work. With a Zoom Lift, you can enjoy many of the benefits of a more invasive treatment but be back on your feet in a couple of days. At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center, we are excited to serve Noblesville, IN, and the surrounding areas with our Zoom Lifts. Contact us today for more information.

Facial Fat Transfer for Facial Rejuvenation

Zoom Lift

As you age, you may notice that your body stores fat in some places while losing it in others. For many people, excess fat can be stored in areas where they would rather be thin while areas such as the face can begin to lose fat pads, making them look older and more lined.

facial-rejuvenation

With a facial fat transfer, we can help to resolve this frustration. We can take fat from one area of your body where you have too much such as your abs or flanks and transfer it to your face so that you can enjoy a more youthful appearance and fewer wrinkles.

How Does a Facial Fat Transfer Work?

During a facial fat transfer, we will identify areas of your body where you are storing excess fat. For most people, these areas are located in the thighs, the abdomen, the flanks, the lower arms, or the buttocks. It can even be removed from the chin or the neck if you have more of a tendency to store fat here.

This fat is removed using a liposuction procedure. Then it is sanitized and isolated from other materials to be injected back into the body. Once it is ready, it can be placed in areas of the face that have lost their volume.

What Are the Benefits of Facial Fat Transfer?

Anti-Aging Treatment

A fat transfer to the face can help address many different concerns that come with aging. When you lose fat pads in your face, the area will no longer have the volume it needs to help support the skin. This can lead to wrinkles that are more defined. Loss of volume in the face can also lead to a sunken look in areas such as the temples, cheeks, and under the eyes. This non-surgical facial enhancement treatment can make you look years younger without a facelift.

Long-Lasting Results

While fillers can provide great long-lasting results, even the longest-lasting products only provide results for up to two years. However, with a facial fat transfer, you can enjoy the results of your procedure indefinitely. Many people are happy with their face fat transfers for decades.

Fat Is Taken From Your Own Body

With facial fat grafting, the only thing being injected into your body is your own fat cells. While not all of the fat cells will survive the process, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction because it is your own tissue being injected.

No Scarring on the Face

While we always place our facelift scars in locations where they will be unnoticeable in most situations, non-surgical facial enhancement can be beneficial because no incisions are made on the face. The only incisions that will be necessary are the tiny incisions needed for the liposuction procedure.

Includes Fat Reduction

When you have a fat transfer to the face, you will also be able to benefit from fat reduction in other parts of your body. We can even take more than is needed from the procedure if you want to include body sculpting with your fat transfer.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Facial Fat Transfer?

Facial rejuvenation with fat transfer is a procedure that is available to individuals who are in good health and who have enough excess fat in their bodies to be able to do the procedure. Almost everyone has sufficient fat, but if you are thin and there is very little fat to harvest, we may recommend a different option.

This procedure is typically performed on individuals over 30 who have begun to lose volume in their faces due to the natural aging process. Patients who are good candidates have realistic expectations about what the procedure can achieve and are in a healthy frame of mind. We care for each of our patients and we want you to feel beautiful inside and out so we will always recommend the treatments that are most beneficial to you.

What Areas Can Be Rejuvenated With Fat Transfer?

Facial rejuvenation with fat transfer can be performed to improve many areas of the face. Common treatment areas include:

  • In nasolabial folds or marionette lines
  • In sunken cheeks
  • Under the eyes
  • In the temples
  • In the lips
  • In the chin or jawline

How Many Procedures Will You Need?

With face fat transfer procedures, most patients are happy with the results after just one procedure. However, additional procedures can be performed if you want more volume.

Is Facial Fat Transfer a Painful Procedure?

The procedure itself is painless due to the anesthetic that is used. For most treatments, a local anesthetic, sometimes with sedation, is utilized as opposed to general anesthesia. During your recovery process, you may have some swelling in your face and in the area where the fat was taken from.

Depending on the extent of your liposuction, you may have a longer recovery time. You can talk to your doctor to discuss how much fat will be removed from the donor site and how this can impact your recovery. In the typical case, most people feel comfortable returning to normal activities after one week.

How Is VASER® Liposuction Different Than Traditional Liposuction?

Liposuction

If you have been struggling to get rid of fat in a certain problem area, you are not alone. Countless people develop pockets of stubborn fat that seem impossible to get rid of despite their best efforts. For many years, liposuction has been one of the primary procedures to contour the body and get rid of stubborn fat. But a treatment known as VASER liposuction has made the process easier for both patients and surgeons.

Liposuction

At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center, we understand the frustration of stubborn fat. We serve our patients in Noblesville, IN by offering the best fat-reduction treatments that are available today. VASER liposuction is our procedure of choice for many patients who want to sculpt their bodies.

What Makes VASER Liposuction Different?

The goal of VASER liposuction is the same as that of the traditional liposuction procedure: to remove fat. However, traditional liposuction can come with a longer downtime. During traditional liposuction, an incision is made through which a cannula is inserted. The fat is then removed manually as the surgeon moves the suction cannula back and forth. While this is a highly effective procedure that is still used in some situations, it takes more time and effort to remove the fat cells. It can also cause more irritation to the surrounding tissues. Because of this, the patient may have more swelling or bruising in the area and it can take longer to recover.

VASER, short for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance, is a liposuction treatment that is assisted by ultrasonic technology. Before the fat is removed from the body, it is broken down using ultrasonic energy. This is done with ultrasound probes which are inserted into the treatment area before the liposuction is performed. Ultrasonic energy separates the fat from the surrounding tissue making it much easier to remove. Next, the fat can be removed using liposuction technology.

Three Key Benefits of VASER Liposuction

1. Smoother Results

The VASER liposuction procedure can produce highly satisfactory results. Because the fat is broken down, it can provide more even fat removal. We also have an even greater amount of control with this procedure. VASER body sculpting can produce a smoother and more satisfactory result than traditional liposuction.

2. Skin Tightening and Fat Removal

In addition to the fat removal benefits of VASER lipo treatment, it has the additional benefit of tightening the surrounding skin. The ultrasonic energy can cause the surrounding tissues and skin to contract as the underlying fat is broken down. This can alleviate some of the concerns that you may have about having loose skin after your liposuction.

3. Shorter Recovery Time

Because there is less trauma and irritation to the surrounding tissues, VASER liposuction procedures come with a shorter recovery time. You may also notice results sooner because there is usually less swelling to mask the results of the fat reduction.

Is VASER Liposuction a Weight Loss Treatment?

While fat is being removed during an ultrasonic liposuction procedure, it should not be viewed as an alternative to losing weight. VASER body sculpting is a way to target stubborn fat that isn’t responding to diet and exercise. If you are in the process of losing weight, your doctor may recommend getting close to your target weight before scheduling your liposuction procedure. Then, you can use the treatment to help sculpt your ideal body shape. During the same procedure, fat transfers can also be performed if you want to use some of your fat to augment another area.

What to Expect From Your VASER Liposuction Procedure

At our practice, you will always have a detailed consultation to help prepare you for your VASER Lipo treatment. Once you are identified as an ideal candidate and the day of your procedure arrives, you will receive an anesthetic. Depending on the situation, you may have local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.

During your procedure, we will make the incision and then insert a medicated fluid into the treatment area. This tumescent fluid makes it easier to remove fat. Next, the ultrasonic probe is inserted into the area and breaks down the fat for removal. Finally, the fat is aspirated from the area using a cannula.

VASER Lipo Recovery Time

VASER Lipo recovery time is typically much shorter. While you may still have some bruising, swelling, and tenderness after the treatment, you can expect this to subside after two to three weeks. It is usually mostly gone by five to six weeks. You will need to stay away from heavy activities and wear a compression garment for a couple of weeks. After two weeks, most patients are able to return to work even if they have a more active job.

As time goes on following your ultrasonic liposuction, you should notice improving results as additional swelling goes down and your skin tightens from the treatment. It can take a few months before the full results of your procedure are seen. Remember that everyone is different and may have different rates of recovery.

DAXXIFY

At our Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center locations in Noblesville, IN, Shelbyville, IN, Danville, IL, Healdsburg, CA, and Ukiah, CA, we offer an innovative cosmetic injectable called DAXXIFY® that can smooth expression lines to address the way aging process has altered your appearance. With this injectable, you can achieve smoother, younger, and healthier-looking skin and enjoy long-lasting results.

DAXXIFY®

There are several different injectables available for cosmetic use that qualify as neuromodulators, products that work on the muscular level to smooth expression lines, also known as dynamic wrinkles, on the upper half of the face. While most of these products contain a similar combination of active ingredients, DAXXIFY® is different.

A Peptide-Powered Injectable

This injectable is a peptide-powered treatment, and while it does use botulinum toxin A to smooth frown lines, it’s made with a unique formula that enables it to deliver results that can last longer than the traditional neuromodulators. This injectable uses a peptide as the primary stabilizer in its formula and is free of human and animal by-products.

Upon initial injection, you can expect your results to last anywhere from six to nine months. At the very least, you’ll need two treatments per year to maintain wrinkle-free results year-round.

How It Works

DAXXIFY® injections target the muscles around and above the eyebrows and relaxes those muscles, a result that enables the skin to rest, which results in a frown line-free appearance, or significantly softened lines and wrinkles. The active ingredient blocks communication between the brain and the muscles so that they don’t contract in exaggerated expressions and worsen the lines in your skin.

What It Treats

This injectable is specifically designed to treat frown lines. Patients of all ages can experience frown lines between their brows. For some, these lines appear earlier in life due to genetic predisposition, sun damage, or environmental factors. For others, a combination of aging, collagen, hyaluronic acid, elastin loss, and repetitive muscular movements cause the development of these lines between the eyebrows.

While frown lines may look different when they develop on two separate patients, they typically appear as one or two indentations that often resemble the number one or 11. Injections into the area will relax the muscles responsible for the movements that lead to frown lines, allow the skin to rest, and enable you to enjoy smooth, wrinkle-free skin long-term.

What To Expect From the Treatment Process

The DAXXIFY® injection process is similar to other the injection process of anti-aging injectable treatments. We can apply a topical numbing cream to the skin between your eyebrows before administering the product to make sure that you maintain optimal comfort. Then, we will make a series of injections with the right dosage based on your needs and the severity of your frown lines.

Your entire treatment will take minutes to complete, and we can administer other anti-aging injectables at the same time, if necessary, to target additional areas of your face with products like our dermal fillers designed, to treat volume loss.

Your Results

After your treatment, you can expect to see improvements in the appearance of your frown lines within the first one to two days. As the active ingredient relaxes the muscles around the eyebrows, you’ll notice that your frown lines will soften and, in some cases, disappear entirely.

You can expect to see results within one to two days of your treatment, and they will continue to improve as your skin responds to the treatment and no longer has to contract repetitively. Our goal is to inject the necessary amount of product for your particular concerns so that you maintain a natural-looking appearance, albeit a younger and well-rested one.

How Long Will My Results Last?

Unlike other cosmetic injectables that use the active ingredient botulinum toxin A to smooth expression lines, this injectable delivers results that last much longer. You can expect your anti-aging results to last anywhere from six to nine months.

The total length of your results depends on how quickly your body metabolizes the product. As your body metabolizes the product, you’ll regain your ability to make exaggerated expressions like frowning, eyebrow furrowing, and squinting. As you do, you’ll notice that those frown lines will reappear, and at this point, you can schedule a follow-up treatment at one of our Northern California area offices to maintain your smoother and younger-looking skin.

Who Is a Candidate?

Some patients will not qualify for treatment, including pregnant and nursing women, patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the injectable, and those who have a skin infection at the planned injection site. An initial consultation at one of our NorCal area offices is the best way to learn more about this treatment and determine your treatment eligibility.

During your consultation at one of our Northern CA area offices, we’ll answer any questions you have about the treatment, process, or product, evaluate your treatment area, and ask you some questions about your medical history and any past experience with neuromodulators like Botox or Dysport. If for any reason, this treatment is not the right option for you, we also offer treatments with Botox and Dysport to treat expression lines, two products that may better suit your needs.

Erase Your Frown Lines With DAXXIFY®

Frown lines can make you look and feel older and unapproachable, but the good news is you don’t have to let them define you. With this innovative treatment, there is a way to temporarily and safely reduce and even eliminate frown lines long-term. We can provide you with more details about the treatment when you visit one of our Northern California area offices to determine if it’s the right choice for you and then design your unique treatment plan accordingly.

RHA Collection of Fillers

At our Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center locations in Noblesville, IN, Shelbyville, IN, Danville, IL, Healdsburg, CA, and Ukiah, CA, we offer an innovative line of dermal fillers called The RHA® Collection. These fillers use unique formulas to treat both expression lines and the signs of aging that result from volume loss. Patients can target multiple problem areas during one treatment to improve their appearance and boost their confidence.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectables with a smooth, gel-like formula that, when injected into the skin, can plump, lift, and contour the treatment area to correct aging-related concerns and enhance facial features to improve facial aesthetics and promote patients’ satisfaction in their appearance. We offer several lines of fillers at our Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center locations in the Northern CA area, including the innovative RHA® Collection.

The RHA® Collection consists of injectable fillers formulated with a flexible, hyaluronic-acid-based formula that, upon injection, can help patients accomplish different aging-related and aesthetic goals. This line is different from other dermal fillers because it is the first-ever FDA-approved line that can use a hyaluronic-acid-based formula to treat expression lines on the upper half of the face.

The Traditional Use of Dermal Fillers and Neuromodulators

Before this collection entered the cosmetic world, there were two primary injectables designed to treat the most common signs of aging: dermal fillers and neuromodulators. Products like Botox and Dysport qualify as neuromodulators, and they work on the muscular level to smooth expression lines with an active ingredient called botulinum toxin A.

This purified protein relaxes the muscles and blocks communication between the brain and nerve signals. After treatment, the muscles respond to the active ingredient and no longer contract, which makes facial expressions less exaggerated and the skin looks smoother.

Treating Volume Loss With Hyaluronic-Acid-Based Fillers

In the same way, dermal fillers traditionally have been the primary solution for those wanting to target aging that has resulted from volume loss in the middle and lower half of the face. Different dermal fillers contain a gel-like formula that mimics the hyaluronic acid that the body produces naturally to restore volume into specific areas to augment the lips, smooth facial folds, and soften lines.

The RHA® Collection Difference

The RHA® Collection is different from other lines of fillers. It uses a special manufacturing process and a hyaluronic acid-based formula to treat both dynamic wrinkles that result from repetitive muscular expressions on the upper half of the face and the lines that form from volume loss on the middle and lower half of the face with a specifically formulated product to do so. The results are immediate and long-lasting and deliver natural-looking results.

The RHA® Collection

RHA Redensity™

RHA Redensity™ is specifically formulated to treat the vertical lines around the mouth, technically called perioral lines but also referred to as lipstick lines. After initial treatment, results are immediate and last up to one year.

RHA® 2

RHA® 2 treats lines and wrinkles resulting from volume loss and dynamic expressions, including the lines around the mouth. It delivers immediate, subtle, and refined results that last up to 15 months.

RHA® 3

Patients who want to smooth the lines and wrinkles that result from volume loss and dynamic expressions may benefit from RHA® 3. Injections deliver natural results that are immediate and last up to 15 months.

RHA® 4

RHA® 4 is designed to smooth the deeper lines, wrinkles, and folds that form on the upper and lower half of the face due to both dynamic expressions and volume loss. RHA® 4 is an excellent solution for patients with the more advanced signs of aging who want to restore a youthful appearance and achieve natural-looking volume. Results are immediate and last up to 15 months.

What To Expect From Your Treatment

Your treatment will begin with a consultation at our NorCal office, where we will give you more details about these fillers, how they work, and how they can address your particular area of concern. We’ll ask you some questions about your medical history and ensure that you don’t have any allergies to any ingredients in the injectable. Then we can design your treatment plan with one or more of these fillers.

The Treatment Process

These injections are virtually painless, but if necessary, before your treatment, we can apply a topical numbing cream to your skin. When you come to one of our Northern CA offices, we’ll take every step to promote your comfort during treatment. You can expect immediate results following your treatment, and those results will continue to develop and improve in the week following your treatment.

Post-Treatment Care

After your treatment, you can resume your normal daily activities. The treatment itself is quick and qualifies as a lunchbreak treatment since injections only take minutes to administer. It’s important that you follow some post-treatment instructions to ensure the best results.

It’s important to avoid blood-thinning supplements and medications, alcohol, and strenuous workouts for the first 24 hours. You should also avoid anything that significantly elevates your body temperature and excessive sun exposure.

Am I a Candidate?

You may be a good candidate for one or more of the fillers from the RHA® Collection if you want an alternative and long-lasting solution for dynamic wrinkles and aging-related volume loss. We can choose the right fillers to address dynamic expression lines, smile lines, lip lines, and facial folds resulting from volume loss to help you achieve the most comprehensive results.

Achieve Younger, Smoother-Looking Skin

This innovative collection of dermal fillers provides patients in Northern California with a safe and natural way to combat aging and improve their appearance through a quick, safe, and minimally invasive treatment. We can give you more information about these unique fillers during your initial consultation and help determine if one or more is the right choice for you.

How Long Does Tattoo Removal Take?

We often get asked by people in Northern California about the process of removing tattoos and how long it takes. Tattoos are popular here in Norcal, but so is removal! The truth is that there is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the time it takes to remove a tattoo depends on several factors. At Zormeier Cosmetic Surgery & Longevity Center in Noblesville, IN, Shelbyville, IN, Danville, IL, Healdsburg, CA, and Ukiah, CA, we can explain the details that will apply to you in your initial consultation.

Before you come, read on to learn more about various factors that influence the removal process, how lasers work to remove tattoos, and what you can do to support your body’s natural healing process and speed things up.

How Long Does Tattoo Removal Take?

The amount of time it will take to remove a tattoo depends on the characteristics of the tattoo itself and some things about your own body.

Tattoo Characteristics

The physical characteristics of a tattoo play a crucial role in determining the length of time required for its removal. To understand why, let’s take a closer look at each of the following factors:

Size

The larger the tattoo, the more time it will take to remove. This is because larger tattoos require more laser treatments to shatter all of the ink particles and more time for the body’s lymphatic system to remove them. For example, a small wrist tattoo might take 4 to 6 laser treatments to remove, while a full sleeve tattoo could take upwards of 20 treatments.

Color

The color of a tattoo also influences the length of time it takes to remove. This is because different colors of ink absorb different wavelengths of laser light. For instance, black and blue inks tend to be the easiest to remove, while green and yellow inks can be more stubborn. Red and orange inks are often in between, with removal times varying depending on the specific shade and brand of ink used.

Age

Tattoos that have been on the skin for a longer period of time are generally easier to remove than newer tattoos. This is because the ink has had time to settle into the skin, making it easier for the laser to target and shatter the particles. On the other hand, a fresh tattoo with crisp lines and bright colors may require more treatments to fade, as the ink is still closer to the surface of the skin.

Location and Placement

The location of a tattoo on the body can also impact the removal process. Tattoos on areas with thin skin, such as the wrist or ankle, tend to be more difficult to remove than tattoos on areas with thicker skin, such as the back or thigh. This is because the skin in these areas is less able to absorb the laser energy and may require more treatments to break down the ink particles.

The placement of the tattoo can also impact the quality and removal process. Tattoos that are placed in areas that are prone to stretching, such as the inner forearm or the upper chest, may become distorted over time, making them more difficult to remove.

Quality

The quality of a tattoo can also play a role in the length of time it takes to remove it. The skill and experience of the tattoo artist can affect the quality of the tattoo, for example, and in turn, the removal process. A well-done tattoo with clean lines and even color distribution is generally easier to remove than a poorly done tattoo with blurry lines and uneven color. This is because the laser can more easily target the ink particles in a well-done tattoo, resulting in faster removal times.

The quality of the ink used can also impact the removal process. High-quality, professional-grade inks tend to be more consistent in composition and color. Lower-quality inks may contain impurities that can make them more difficult to remove and may also result in unwanted side effects, such as scarring.

Health and Lifestyle Factors

The speed of tattoo removal can be impacted not only by the physical characteristics of the tattoo but also by a person’s overall health and lifestyle. Here are some factors to consider:

Overall Health

A person’s overall health can have a significant impact on the speed of tattoo removal. Individuals with strong immune systems and good overall health are likely to experience faster removal times. Conversely, those with weakened immune systems or chronic health conditions may take longer to remove their tattoos.

Stress

Stress can have a negative impact on the body’s ability to heal and remove the shattered ink particles. High levels of stress can weaken the immune system and slow down the removal process. To support the tattoo removal process, it is important to manage stress through relaxation techniques, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle.

Medications

Certain medications can also impact the removal process. For example, some medications can make the skin more sensitive to laser treatment, while others can interfere with the body’s natural healing process. It is important to discuss any medications you are taking with us so we can help you learn whether they might interfere with the process.

Lifestyle Habits

Lifestyle habits, such as alcohol and drug use, can also impact the speed of tattoo removal. Alcohol and drugs can weaken the immune system and slow down the healing process, making it harder for the body to remove the shattered ink particles. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including avoiding harmful substances, can help support the tattoo removal process.

Exposure to Sunlight

Exposure to sunlight can also impact the removal process. Direct sunlight can cause the skin to become more sensitive to laser treatment, making it more difficult to remove the tattoo. To protect the skin and support the removal process, it is important to avoid direct sunlight and wear protective clothing or use sunscreen during and after laser treatment.

How Does This Work?

When a laser is directed at a tattoo, the high-intensity light is absorbed by the tattoo ink. This energy shatters the ink particles into smaller fragments, which the body’s lymphatic system then removes over time.

The laser works by emitting a specific wavelength of light that is absorbed by the tattoo ink. This energy creates a photothermal effect that shatters the ink particles into smaller fragments. The laser’s pulse duration and energy level can also impact how effectively it removes the tattoo, but it’s not always possible to use the strongest and longest pulses. The pulses have to be calibrated to match the color of the tattoo and to differentiate between skin color and tattoo colors, so the skin is protected.

How Can I Speed Up the Removal Process?

The process of removing a tattoo puts stress on the body, and supporting the immune system can help speed up the removal time. Here are some ways to do just that:

Healthy Diet

Maintaining a healthy diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean protein can provide the body with the nutrients it needs to heal and remove the shattered ink particles. A balanced diet with plenty of vitamins and minerals can also support the immune system, allowing it to work more efficiently in removing the tattoo ink. Consuming a diet that is low in processed foods and high in whole, nutrient-rich foods can help keep the body in optimal health, promoting faster healing and faster removal.

Hydration

Drinking plenty of water is crucial for flushing the shattered ink particles from the body. Water helps to keep the skin healthy and promotes faster healing, making it an essential component of the tattoo removal process. It is recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to support the tattoo removal process and to keep the body well hydrated.

Harmful Substances

Alcohol and nicotine can interfere with the body’s natural healing process, slowing down the removal of the tattoo ink. These substances can weaken the immune system, making it more difficult for the body to remove the shattered ink particles.

Sleep and Stress

You can also support your immune system by getting plenty of sleep and minimizing stress. While that last is hard to do, taking regular walks, meditating, and getting massages are a couple of things you can do especially during this time to help your body finish the removal process as quickly as possible.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

About Hair

Hair is composed of a protein called keratin and is produced in small tubes in the skin called follicles. The hair follicle contains blood vessels that provide nourishment for the growing hair. Each hair follicle goes through cycles of growth and rest, and it is during the growth phase that hair can be effectively treated with a laser.

About the Laser

Lasers emit light energy, and this energy targets the follicles via your hairs themselves. The light energy is attracted to the melanin in your hair, which is what gives hair its color. The light energy is transformed into heat, which damages the hair follicle and prevents it from producing new hair. The laser emits light in the near-infrared range, which is well absorbed by melanin.

When the laser is applied to the skin, the energy goes harmlessly through the skin because the laser is calibrated to ignore the skin pigmentation and target the pigmentation in your hair. The heat generated by the laser damages the hair follicle, causing it to stop producing new hair.

What Do Hair Growth Phases Have to Do With Anything?

The laser works best on hair that is in the growth phase because the follicle is larger and contains more pigment at this time. It’s important to note that not all hair is in the growth phase at the same time, which is why multiple treatments are typically needed.

Hair growth cycles can vary from person to person, but on average, hair goes through three stages of growth: anagen, catagen, and telogen. The anagen phase is the active growth phase. The catagen phase is the transitional phase, when the hair is no longer growing but has not yet shed. The telogen phase is the resting phase, when the hair has shed, and a new hair is beginning to grow.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

Typically, people need between 4 and 8 treatments, depending on the area being treated, the density of the hair, and the individual’s hair growth cycle. It is important to wait 4 to 6 weeks between treatments to allow time for the hair to enter the anagen phase and be effectively treated. The number of treatments needed can vary, but on average, hair growth is reduced by about 70% after 4 to 8 treatments.

How Does the Hair “Disappear” After Treatment?

After a laser treatment, the treated hair will begin to shed over the next few days to a week. This shedding process is normal and is a sign that the laser treatment has been successful. At first, this will look a lot like new hair growth, but don’t be discouraged. That’s actually your body getting rid of the treated hair!

Any hair that does grow back will be finer and lighter in color, and there will be less of it. Some of the follicles will only be damaged if they weren’t in the active growing stage when the laser hit them. Follicles that were actively growing when targeted won’t regrow any hair at all.

What Are Some of the Benefits of Laser Hair Removal?

Unlike traditional hair removal methods, this one actually destroys the hair follicle, preventing it from growing hair again. This means the process can offer some pretty wonderful benefits:

Say Goodbye to Razor Burn

Razor burn can be a constant problem, especially for men with thick beards or women who shave areas of the body that society deems “unacceptable.” With this treatment, you can enjoy smooth, hairless skin and put an end to razor burn for good.

Enjoy Life Pain-Free

Shaving, plucking, and waxing can be painful and irritating to the skin. Laser treatments provide a comfortable solution that minimizes discomfort and saves you from the pain of traditional hair removal methods.

Gain Back Lost Time

The average woman spends about 72 days of her life shaving, and the average man spends 45 days shaving his face alone. We don’t notice this time sink because shaving only takes a short time each day: but with lasers, you can reclaim those lost hours and enjoy more time doing the things you love. (And just think about what that amount of time is worth. Even if you only value it at $12 an hour, that’s over $20,000 in a lifetime!)

Reach Everywhere, Easily

For some people, the physical act of shaving can be difficult, especially for those trying to reach hard-to-get-to areas, like the back. This treatment offers an easy solution for removing hair from these areas and stops you from feeling like an acrobat every time you need to shave.

Get Treatment, Even With a Darker Skin Tone

In the past, laser hair removal was only recommended for people with light-colored skin. With advancements in laser technology, the treatment can now be performed on a wide range of skin tones, including those with darker skin.

Is This Treatment Right for You?

Laser treatments can be a great fit for many people, but the best way to determine if it’s right for you is to schedule a consultation with us. Our specialists will carefully consider your hair type, skin type, and goals to help you find the right answer for your unwanted hair. Here are a few things to consider as you decide if this is right for you:

The Color of Your Hair

The laser needs to be able to identify the melanin in the hair shaft to target the follicle. If your hair is very light in color, laser treatment may not be an option for you. The good news is that modern lasers can typically target all but the very lightest reds and greys.

Your Budget

This treatment might feel expensive when you compare it to the cost of a couple of cheap razors and a can of shaving cream: but it can save you money in the long run. The average woman will spend nearly $15,000 on hair removal products over a lifetime!

Areas of Treatment

This treatment can be used to treat hair on most parts of the body, including the face, legs, arms, underarms, back, chest, abdomen, bikini area, and even the neck. The most common areas for laser hair removal are the underarms, legs, and bikini line.

The Face: Popular With Everyone!

The face is a sensitive area and requires special care and attention. Laser treatments on the face are usually limited to the upper lip, chin, and sideburns. However, in some cases, laser hair removal may be performed on the forehead, cheeks, and neck.

Popular With Men

Laser treatments on the chest, back, and abdomen are popular among men, though it’s certainly an option for women, too. Men may wish to be completely hair-free in these areas, or they may want to simply reduce the amount of hair they have to present a different look.

Popular With Women

The bikini area is a common target for women, as it can help achieve a cleaner and more defined appearance than shaving, and with a lot less risk of razor burn and missed hairs.

FYIs

Regardless of the area being treated, it is important to follow pre-treatment instructions, such as avoiding sun exposure, to ensure the best results. We’ll tell you what you need to know when you come to us for a consultation.

It is important to note that laser hair removal is not recommended for certain areas, such as the eyelids and surrounding eye area. Additionally, it is not recommended for use on moles or birthmarks.
