Bellafill is FDA approved to smooth smile lines and treat acne scars. Injections are done in the office. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime needed.
Most fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, like the Restylane or Juvederm family of products. These are really nice fillers but your injection treatments generally need to be repeated yearly to maintain results. Bellafill contains PMMA microspheres to support your own natural collagen production over time. Bellafill is the only dermal filler that stimulates collagen growth to help maintain your youthful appearance for up to 5 years.
Acne Scarring. Bellafill Michigan is used to replace lost volume in the skin below the acne scar. It is, however, best used for distensible, rolling acne scars. Multiple treatments are generally needed. It is a good choice for facial acne scarring.
Multi-modality treatment options are available for acne scarring. We usually begin treatments with the Bellafill filler because of its longevity and also include one of the following:
- Morpheus8 Radiofrequency Micro-needling. We have found this to be a good choice for many requiring a series of three to four treatment sessions for best results and minimal down time. It is also good on active acne, reducing those annoying flare ups.
- CO2 Laser resurfacing is another option but with downtime, generally five to seven days. This treatment includes superficial Deep FX laser resurfacing to nicely soften acne scarring.
- Cool Touch laser treatments also stimulate collagen production to improve acne scarring with multiple treatments.
Bellafill is a good choice if you are looking for a longer lasting filler for facial volume filling for volume loss, but it is not used for lip augmentation.
Lip Augmentation. Options for your lips include the Restylane or Juvederm family of hyaluronic acid products to add lip volume and sooth out lip lines.
Facial fat transfer is another good choice for filler longevity. Facial fat transfer has the additional benefit of losing unwanted fat so this option is often an attractive choice to many.
